The science is clear.
The evidence is just as clear:
- Melting glaciers
- Ever rising levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane in the atmosphere
- Disappearing Arctic Ice
- More and more powerful hurricanes and typhoons
- Drunken trees in Canada and Alaska
- Prolonged droughts
- Rising oceans
- Increased inland and coastal flooding
- Forest fires growing in number and intensity
- Melting permafrost
- Icebergs the size of cities calving off ice shelves in Antartica
- Decades of higher global temperatures
The evidence gets starker, more dramatic and more devastating every year. Every part of the globe has been touched.
People are alarmed. Climate strikes span the globe. Millions have marched…seeking change.
Pretty soon marching won’t be enough. It is time we all began Upping Our Game.
Some residents along the hurricane ravaged eastern seaboard of the United States are beginning to relocate further inland. The on-going war in Syria initially started due to a prolonged drought. Climate refugees are fleeing drought stricken countries in Africa. Heat waves are increasingly common in Europe.
It will take tremendous effort to slow, and then reverse, the effects of climate change. The industrial revolution began 200 years ago. A green revolution is needed now to reverse its effects.
